Super Rare Antique Ke Keuffel Esser Drafting Splines

Hello everyone, thanks for looking. Up for aution is a very rare k&e drafting spline set for drawing cruves. This is a very fine set that was used in a prominate physics department a very long time ago. Everything is housed in a beautiful heavy wood display box that's in amazing conditino for it's age. There probably was a note glued to the top just like the one on the inside cover.

I don't think the notes are original to the set. As you can see in the pictures the glue on top is not serious and can easily be removed and/or refinished. This is a very heavy set and a well made case.

This was without question was a very expensive spline set in it's time. It's quit exceptional to see even without restoration and smells wonderful. All the handels, latches, hinges, and feet are intact. There are 6 weights, two don't have rubber on the tips (only needed for some splines), and one has some moderate flaking on it. There are 3 honeycomb k&e splines, (the numbers are pictured), the note on the inside calls them honeycomb splines and further explains how to use them and why. 1 k&e railroad spline, the note says to used the weights without the rubber for this one. It's for drawing longer curves. There are 3 cobar splines, that are used for general curve and graph drawing. 1 detizen. 1 tacro 5303 england. The grey spline is hard to read. I can promise you that you won't see a slpine set like this for a very long time. Everyhting you see pictured is included.
