Please note this item is being relisted. It was returned because it is missing the eyepiece. I am sure you could replace it with another. Here is a weather ballono theodolite made by david white of milwaukee.
The instrument comes ni its original box. It measures about 12 1/2 inches or 32 cm high to the top of the wheel. The scoep measures 10 inches or 25.5 cm long. The eyepiece si missing.
Under the scope, engraved into the instrument is theodore white milwaukee wis along with the number #12461 and theodolite ml-47-k serial no 78 order no 1165-wf-2. The instrument has many dials and verniers.
There is also a hinged battery compartment on one side for lighting the scales. Teh scope is viewed from the side and on top of the scope are sights that can be lifted, much like a gun sight. The condition fo the instrument looks to be excellent. It is in its original blackened finish.
The brass aprts have not been polished. The insturment sits on 4 adjusting leveling screws, which in turn sit on a brass base. This base is marked 3 1/2 8 thds. The instrument also comes in its original case, and i am wondering if this may be an instrument made for the us military because the case is in olive drab.
The case itself is a bit beat up but solid and strong. There is no reserve. Please see my other auctions for other interesting antiques.
